A subspecies of the Monstera Deliciosa, Monstera Borsigniana  is on everyone’s wish list for houseplants and rightfully so! The foliage is stunning with its brilliant bright white variegation, fenestration (holes) when matured and long striped stems. There’s no wonder that this plant has become one of the hottest plants on the market!

The most important thing you need to know about owning a Monstera Borsigiana, is that the white stripes and splashes found throughout the leaves, like any other variegated plants, do not contain chlorophyll and therefore can’t absorb sunlight.

It is mildly toxic to humans and pets. Symptoms of exposure include: oral irritation, pain and swelling mouth, tongue and lips. It’s best to keep these plants out of reach of pets and children. Besides, it’s too good a plant to eat!

Our plants originate from Thailand.  They have been growing in an environment where the temperature varies between 20 to 27 degrees C.  The humidity varies between 60% and 70% and they receive bright indirect light.  For your plant to thrive you should try to mimic these conditions.

SIZE: 12cm

CARE: Easy

LIGHT: Bright indirect light.

WATER: The plant requires moisture but does not like to have wet feet.  Make sure your plant drains and the water provides enough air pockets for the roots.

HUMIDITY: Higher humidity will encourage growth.

BENEFITS: Trendy and highly sought after.

Plants are delivered in nursery pots.  We try our utmost to deliver a plant that looks similar to the one pictured - remember that no two plants look the same.

These plants endure massive shock when being transported, we acclimate and recover them before selling, but you are likely to find some dead roots if you remove the plants from the growing media, this is normal. We do not remove them from the growing media before shipping to check the roots for obvious reasons, but a plant that is growing happily for more than a month will keep on doing so unless there are drastic changes.

DO NOT repot this plant for at least 1 month after receiving it, the plant will go into shock again and reset the acclimation/recovery process, which can lead to death or an exceptionally long waiting time for new growth.

We look after our fellow planties, as many of our customers can attest to, if you experience problems with your plant, contact us, we will always assist.
